Little things make a difference. Non-Exercise Activity Thermogenesis (NEAT) is the energy you consume just by living your daily life (i.e., when you are not actively exercising). Increasing your energy burn rate in this area can lead to some easy wins.

You "just" need to change some habits like taking the stairs instead of the lift or use your bicycle instead of your car. Use every opportunity to just walk or stand instead of sitting (eg, at work if you have a sedentary job).
